A karate club for children: fitness, discipline, self-defence skills and calm self-confidence.

Karate for children: from the first class to the first belt
Karate at Profi School is a school of character. Children learn to control their body, take a hit, respect an opponent and answer for their actions. We are not raising fighters for the sake of fighting: the goal of the club is a healthy, focused and confident child who can stand up for themselves but does not look for conflict.
Classes are led by qualified coaches experienced in working with children. Groups are small and divided by age and level, so a beginner is never paired with a stronger, more experienced student.
What children learn
The programme is traditional and built around basic technique, learned gradually and safely.
- Kihon — basic technique: stances, movement, punches, kicks and blocks.
- Kata — formal sequences of movement that develop memory, precision and concentration.
- Kumite — training bouts in protective gear, strictly by age and level.
- General physical preparation: strength, flexibility, reaction speed and coordination.
- Safety rules and dojo etiquette: the bow, discipline, respect for the coach and the partner.
How a session runs
A session starts with lining up and a greeting, which sets the group up for work. Then comes a warm-up and joint mobility, technique practice, work in pairs, and finally conditioning and stretching. The class ends with a short review and a bow.
The workload is dosed by age. Younger students train through games, relays and coordination drills; older ones work on technique and the tactics of a bout.
Gradings and belts
Progress in karate is measurable, and that motivates children enormously. Belt gradings are held several times a year: the child demonstrates the technique and kata they have learned, the coach assesses them and awards the next belt. A clear ladder of goals — starting from the white belt — teaches planning, preparation and not giving up halfway.
Those who wish to take part in city and national competitions. Participation is always voluntary: we never put competitive sport above health and schoolwork.
What karate gives a child
The first and most visible change is physical condition. Regular training strengthens the back and core, improves posture, stamina and sleep. The second is self-regulation: the child learns to endure effort, control emotions and not answer aggression with aggression. The third is safety: basic self-defence skills and, more importantly, the ability to read a situation and keep it from turning into a fight.
Parents often notice that after a few months the child is more focused at school too: the habit of routine and discipline carries over into lessons.
Why karate at Profi School
The club runs inside the school, right after lessons, so no evening is lost to travel. Karate is included in the tuition fee — there is no separate charge for training or the hall. We help you choose a gi and protective gear and explain the requirements at the first session.
We take safety seriously: sparring only happens in full protective gear and only between students of comparable level, and every technique is first practised in the air and on equipment.
Come to a free trial session — the coach will assess your child and you will see how training is organised.
